The Camels of the Tottori sand dunes

The Tottori sand dunes stretch 2.4 kilometers from south to north, 16 km from east to west, with rolling drops up to 92 meters, and is the largest coastal dune in Japan. In 1955 it was named as the national nature conservation site, and in 2007 it was elected as one of 100 Japanese geological sites. The dunes are constantly shifting and changes with the breeze from the Sea of Japan, creating a truly unique local sight. Another unique sight are the camels, which you can rent and travel the area as if in the Sahara! In the glow of sunset, the view of the sky and sea is impressive. From Tottori Station it takes about 20 minutes to reach the dunes by bus or car.

Daisen

It is known as the "Hōki Fuji” because it reminds many visitors of Mt. Fuji. It is a truly grand and magnificent landscape, and it is visited by many from all over the world. At the foot of the mountain pasture corner, there are a variety of relaxing amenities, as well as the endless Great Plains, a broad expanse just like you the European Alps. Looking at the cows grazing quietly, overlooking the Sea of Japan from an altitude of 600 meters, you can completely relax as there are no city noises. The mountain's also contain many holy places for various religious practices from ancient times. Big Temple and Great Sacred Shrine are two of the most famous temples. There are also many buildings that are listed as important cultural heritages.
