Lake Kussharo

Covers an area of 79.7 square kilometers, with the deepest waters of 117.5 meters, and known as one of the few large volcanic lakes. Located at teh lakes center is Nakajima island, a composite volcano, and the lake itself is the largest caldera-lake in all of Japan. Board the "Bihoro peak", an get an overview of Lake Kussharo, the sights providing a great attraction. Standing on top of the Outlook platform, you can look up at the blue sky, or look down at the crystal clear blue water, both beautiful and amazing. After a day trip, you can choose one of four hot springs situated around the lake, they will not only help tired muscles from a long day but clear the mind and heal the soul as well.
