Toudaiji

Toudaiji is the largest wooden building in the world and is famous for possessing many national treasures, such as the giant Daibutsu statue and Nigatsu-dō's Omizutori. There are also the great Nandaimon with a height of 25 meters; the old Hokke-dō, built in the Heian period; the Shōrō, which hangs at 26-tons and the Kaidan-do, where the masterpiece, “Four Heavenly Kings,” stays. The grand beauty of Toudaiji astonishes most tourists. It's only a 7 minutes' ride on the bus from Super Hotel JR Nara Ekimae to Toudaiji. Please visit Toudaiji. We highly recommend it!

Nara Park

Nara park is a 4 kilometer-long and 2 kilometer-wide vast recreational area. Sakura trees bloom in spring and the leaves turn in autumn. This is the place to go to enjoy the natural beauty of all four seasons. Deer are the symbolic and sacred animals of Nara and they play in groups inside the park. They are loved and cared for to great extents because they are believed to be the messengers of the gods. The park is a 15 minutes' walking distance from our hotel. Why not take a quick stroll before you eat breakfast?

Kofukuji

Kofukuji, located in Nara Park, contains an attractive five-story pagoda. The construction of the temple blends well with the park's landscape to the extent that it seems as if you are looking at a beautiful painting. Scattered about the luscious green temple grounds are towers, scripture halls and priceless treasures, such as statues of the Buddha, paintings, crafts and documents. The Eastern Golden Hall, a World Heritage Site, is just one of the many sites to see at Kofukuji. It only takes 5 minutes to walk here from the JR Nara Station.
