Nipponzan Myōhōji
It is said that it was a temple to consecrate the portrait of Vaisravana, supervised by Shotoku Taishi. There are various Buddhist buildings were crafted with architectural designs from many different Asian countries, such as India, China, Pakistan and others. In addition to that there is a replica of a temple from India called Doukutsu Shichifukushindo. When you walk slowly towards the dim corridor, beautiful lights shine onto the walkway creating a solemn and mysterious atmosphere. Also, located here is on of the three large Daruma markets, with the temple famous for holding the Vaisravana Fete. During the festival, the temple is filled with people streaming into the area. During the festival the road is blocked to traffic for a whole kilometer in each direction. The festival takes place from the 7th to the 9th of January, make sure to visit and enjoy the festive Vaisravana Fete.
