 Hashoku Center IchibaIf you plan on eating seafood in Hachinohe, this place is your best choice! There are about 60 restaurants and shops lined up on this 170m-long street. It is one of the largest food markets in Hachinohe. All of the shopkeepers' shouting really brings life into this market. It is full of not only fresh seafood pulled straight out of the water, but also dried foods, gourmet delicacies and Hachinohe specialties, all of which are great, economical souvenirs for friends and family. Moreover, Japanese Shichirin grills are available to rent so that you can cook up your fresh fish on the spot. Enjoy the delicious seafood here as much as you can! Along its 10km coast, white sands, green pines, large and small rocks, reefs and small islands are scattered everywhere, all composing a beautiful scenic spot. Ryotaro Shiba once said of this beach: “I have thought that if one day I had to show beings from a different planet the beauty of our Earth, I would first take them to Tanesashi Beach. This beauty that Shiba describes can be seen all around the beach. We would also like to recommend that you visit the long walking road that is built in the vicinity. However, Kabushima is an exception. It is the only place in Japan where people can observe black-tailed gulls up-close. From late February to mid-April each year, black-tailed gulls fly here to build their nests. This happens in May when the rape flowers bloom. June is when most finish laying their eggs and the number of black-tailed gulls reaches at most around 40 thousand. It's definitely an impressive sight to see when countless black-tailed gulls fly to the sky at the same time. It only takes 3 minutes to walk here from the JR “Same” Station.
